Nothing tastes better than a heaping bowl of pasta served in a bowl you made yourself!
In this workshop, you’ll create your own wide, open pasta bowl using simple hand-building techniques. Start by shaping your bowl with a mold for the perfect base, then let your creativity run wild—add fluted edges, playful patterns, or even little sculpted characters with silicon molds to give your bowl a unique personality.
Choose a theme—nature, animals, or something completely wacky—and decorate with textures, colors, and designs that reflect your style. By the end, you’ll have a functional, one-of-a-kind ceramic bowl ready to impress friends, family, or just make your mealtime extra special! Due to the kiln-firing process, finished mugs will be ready for pickup approximately 3–4 weeks after the workshop.

Andra Galbin Pristavu is a ceramics and sculpture artist currently studying Visual Arts and Biology at Simon Fraser University. Their artistic practice involves functional decorative pottery as well as multimedia sculpture and installation that explores the connection between the body, mind, and its surroundings. Andra has been taking ceramics classes with PoMoArts since 2018 and joined their team in 2021 as part of the Canada Summer Jobs program to help young artists find their passion. Their involvement with ceramics started with one great teacher showing them the ropes, and they hope to be that one great teacher for the many more students they teach.
