This family-focused hand-building program invites parents and school-aged children to create together in a thoughtfully supported studio environment. Guided instruction introduces fundamental techniques while encouraging collaboration, imagination, and shared creative experiences.
Participants explore clay through playful and meaningful projects such as fairy doors, family portraits, and seasonal ornaments. Emphasizing process, connection, and wellbeing, the program provides families with a space to slow down, make together, and enjoy the joy of working with clay. Clay, glazing, & firing included.

Our Hand-Building & Sculpture program welcomes participants of all ages and experience levels to explore clay through both functional and conceptual approaches. Offered throughout the year, the program allows students to develop skills in techniques such as pinching, coiling, slab construction, and sculptural form while building an understanding of structure, surface, and creative expression.
Instruction is supportive and accessible, making the program approachable for beginners while offering space for more advanced exploration. Through guided projects and open-ended making, participants are encouraged to experiment, think creatively, and gain confidence in working with clay.

Get creative and discover the medium of clay using hand building techniques. Kids will learn the basics of pottery hand-building with the guidance of an experienced instructor. Using these techniques, kids will create the cutest animal figurines, personalized cups, and ornaments. All clay pieces will be painted with colourful glazes. All materials included. Continue your exploration of ceramic surface decoration in Part II of this two-part series. Designed for students who have completed Surface Decoration Part I or have equivalent experience, this course builds on foundational techniques and introduces more advanced approaches to creating rich, expressive ceramic surfaces.Students will expand their skills through advanced layering methods, glaze combinations, resist techniques, image integration, and experimental surface treatments. The course also introduces specialty processes such as glass fusing, lustre firing, and china paints, while encouraging students to develop a more personal artistic style through thoughtful planning and concept-driven projects. Seasonal and holiday-inspired projects will provide opportunities to apply these techniques in creative and meaningful ways.
Students are encouraged to bring their own bisque-fired pottery pieces to decorate, and class projects will provide additional opportunities to explore new materials and techniques. Discover the creative possibilities of ceramic surface decoration in this hands-on course designed for students with prior clay experience. Whether you are looking to expand your technical skills or develop your own artistic style, this class explores a wide range of decorative techniques that transform functional and sculptural pottery into expressive, one-of-a-kind pieces. This spring course focuses on foundational and intermediate decoration techniques, helping students build confidence, technical skills, and creative direction before continuing into Part II in the summer.
Students will experiment with a variety of surface decoration methods, including underglaze painting, sgraffito, slip trailing, carving, layering, wax resist, image transfer, stamping, texture work, and Gelli plate monoprinting. The course also includes preparing greenware for decoration, and participants are encouraged to bring their own bisque-fired pottery pieces to explore and apply these techniques.
Suitable for continuing beginners through advanced students, this course provides guided instruction, material exploration, and practical approaches to building confidence, refining technique, and developing a personal creative voice. It also serves as an excellent foundation for future surface decoration courses that explore more advanced techniques, glazing combinations, and specialized decorative processes. Our Wheel-Throwing program offers a full range of classes, from introductory to advanced levels, for teens and adults. Participants develop essential skills—centering, pulling, shaping, and trimming—while exploring personal expression and form at the wheel. This program is designed for participants who have completed an Introduction to Wheel-Throwing for Beginners course with us or have equivalent experience. It is also suitable for students who are looking to refine their existing wheel-throwing skills, improve their technique, and build confidence with more advanced forms.Participants should have a basic understanding of centering clay and creating simple forms before joining this course.
Please Note: Clay is included in this program. This is a process-based course focused on skill development and practice; pieces created during the course will not be glazed or fired.

Designed for experienced pottery students, this program supports skill development through both structured and independent practice. In Creative Ceramics Studio, participants work on self-directed projects while exploring a wide range of techniques—wheel-throwing, hand-building, sculptural forms, surface treatments, and more—developed through hands-on practice. Weekly sessions provide time to refine skills, develop personal style, and deepen artistic expression with guidance from our artist instructors.
For ongoing practice, our Student Studio gives currently registered students independent studio time to continue projects, experiment with techniques, and nurture their personal artistic voice. Supervisors are available for guidance, making it a space for focused practice, inspiration, and connection with fellow makers.

This intermediate and advanced course is for experienced pottery students ready to develop their skills. Participants work on self-directed projects and explore advanced techniques in wheel-throwing, hand-building, and surface treatments, with guidance from our artist instructors. Students choose Wheel-Throwing or Hand-Building when registering.
Our studio is open four times a week with daytime, evening, and weekend sessions for currently registered adult students. Registration is required for all participants. The studio provides self-directed time to work on personal projects and experiment with techniques. Supervisors are available for guidance. Please note: no refunds are offered, but transfers to other time slots are allowed.
