PoMoArts is looking for a creative, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic individual with the interest in arts and festivals to support our new annual multi-disciplinary arts festival, Art Out Side, that happens on August 7-16, 2026.
Festival Social Media and PR Coordinator supports with the development, implementation, and evaluation of social media marketing strategy, public relations campaigns, and community engagement for Art Out Side Festival. This position plays an integral role in strategizing social media marketing efforts, leading social media coverage and promotions, building relationships with local media outlets and content creators, and coordinating community outreach to ensure that the brand and mission of PoMoArts and Art Out Side Festival are maintained and amplified.

PoMoArts, the Port Moody Arts Centre Society, is a not-for-profit community-arts organization that creates art experiences to engage, challenge, and awaken opportunities for connection. We provide art education, exhibitions, and community art experiences in the City of the Arts with various partners and artists each year.
We are supported by a thriving community of artists, volunteers, donors, businesses, associations, and decision-makers. We are an arts centre run primarily by artists, committed to developing, promoting, and celebrating meaningful arts experiences in Port Moody. We offer a full range of visual, ceramic, fibre, media, performing arts and music programs for people of all ages and experience levels. We curate exhibitions of local and regional artists, emerging and established. We create meaningful community art experiences with our partners that explore social issues, lift voices of those less heard, and support community dialogue.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Marketing Manager, the specific responsibilities include:
Social Media Marketing & Content Creation:
- Lead the development of the social media content strategy for the Art Out Side 2026, focusing on community-centered storytelling to increase festival engagement and awareness;
- Execute the social media strategy by planning and curating a social media calendar, generating original content ideas, filming and editing content, designing graphics, and writing messaging tailored to the social media audience;
- Research social media opportunities for increasing the festival’s digital presence and awareness in the community through influencer marketing, user-generated content, outreach and partnerships with other local organizations and businesses, and local promotional channels;
- Monitor social media comments and messages about the festival and foster a positive online community;
- Assist Art Out Side artists with social media marketing by developing a media toolkit, amplifying their work online, and providing recommendations on best practices;
- Coordinate social media coverage during festival events;
- Track, analyze, and recommend actionable insights on the performance of social media content;
Public Relations and Community Outreach:
- Support with developing and building media relations, including preparing and distributing press releases, and pitching stories to local media outlets and organizations;
- Plan and coordinate media campaigns with potential influencers and ambassadors;
- Ensure effective distribution of Art Out Side promotional materials through paid advertising and local digital channels;
- Assist with poster distribution to local community businesses and organizations;
- Monitor festival’s media coverage to identify impacts and opportunities;
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1-2 years experience working in digital media, social media, marketing &communications, public relations, and other related fields;
- Post-secondary degree in a related field is considered an asset;
- Familiarity with the local arts & culture scene and media outlets;
- Highly effective verbal, visual, and written communication skills with the ability to create impactful messages;
- Demonstrated experience developing social media strategies, creating engaging content, and strong knowledge of social media platforms and their current trends and practices;
- Critical eye and strong attention to detail across multiple projects;
- Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment;
- Strong organization and time management skills with the proven ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines;
- Experience with content management and analytics platforms(e.g. Meta Business Suite, Later), content editing tools (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CapCut), and Microsoft Office Suite;
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends as required for festival events;
