About PoMoArts
The Port Moody Arts Centre Society is a not-for-profit community arts organization located in the City of the Arts. We create inclusive and meaningful art experiences through education, exhibitions, and outreach. Run primarily by artists and supported by a vibrant network of volunteers, donors, and community partners, we offer a wide range of visual, performing, ceramic, and media arts programming for people of all ages and skill levels.

The Role: After Camp Care Leader
As an After-Camp Care Leader, you’ll lead and supervise fun art and educational activities for a diverse group of participants from ages 5-12 during our after-camp care program. This program runs after summer camps, Monday to Friday, from 3pm – 5pm.
This is a role for a leader – someone who enjoys working with kids, creating welcoming environments, being organized, and having fun.
This is a temporary, casual term position for an 8-week period during July and August 2026.
Key Responsibilities
Program Development and Administration
- Lead and supervise campers through creative, wind-down activities thatsupport PoMoArts’ values and inspire creativity;
- Maintain an organized and safe studio and ensure the proper care and useof tools and equipment;
- Follow safety procedures at all times and contribute ideas to improve practices where needed;
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that keeps students motivated and engaged;
- Communicate respectfully and proactively with students, parents, and staff to ensure a smooth program experience;
- Be punctual, prepared, and professional in all teaching sessions and related commitments;
Who You Are
- An enthusiastic leader who enjoys working with students of all ages and backgrounds;
- Highly organized with strong time management skills;
- Passionate about the visual arts, and encouraging participation;
Qualifications
- Experience in a program leader position or equivalent;
- Enthusiastic about arts and leading kids with an approach that encourages participation and engagement;
- Strong ability to communicate positively with students, parents, and staff;
- Demonstrated ability to be responsible and punctual;
- Demonstrated ability to work with participants of all ages, social, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds;
- Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector check required prior to starting work;
- Must be available for July and August 2026;
Assets
- Working knowledge of a second language;
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (level 1 or equivalent);
