Caroline Dahlmanns is a contemporary realist painter. Originally from New York, she lives and works in Vancouver, BC. Working primarily in the alla prima style and from life, she starts a painting with a traditional underpainting and builds up layers of abstracted marks. Using the sensuous, buttery properties of oil and cold wax, she enjoys creating fresh, textural passages to depict an impression of physical reality. Her works are held in private collections throughout North America, Europe and Asia.
