Peter Baxter is a painter with a deep love and passion for art. While he embraces many styles and loves working with a variety of materials and media, he feels the name contemporary impressionism best describes the direction he wishes to take his work.
He received his early art education at The Liverpool School of Art in the U.K., where he also completed The Higher National Certificate in design and later, during the 1990’s, attended B.F.A. foundation courses at the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design (now the Emily Carr University of Art and Design). He has participated in many group and/or solo shows (most recently in a juried exhibition in the Harmony Arts Festival) both in U.K. and in Canada, and has won awards for many of his paintings.
He has travelled widely in S.E. Asia and N. Africa and has lived at various times in London (England), Gibraltar, Malaga (Spain), Montreal and Toronto, and is now living in Vancouver.
