The Port Moody Arts Centre is a non-profit organization located in Port Moody, BC.
We provide over 300 art programs and music lessons and hold numerous unique and culturally saturated events and fundraisers annually.
The main floor of our building is mainly devoted to the gallery and is free to the public. There are five gallery spaces capable of holding up to fifty exhibitions throughout the year.
The Arts Centre Gallery holds both group and solo exhibitions in all mediums. In the past we have had a wide variety of shows, including but not limited to, painting, photography, clay, metal, mixed media, digital media, textile art and wood. It is our goal to provide participatory and engagement features with our exhibitions.
The Port Moody Arts Centre provides promotional marketing support to artists that include rack card invitations, e-vites, posters as well as information in local print and or online sources. In addition, we feature the presenting artists on the gallery website and Arts Centre social media channels.
The gallery organizes an opening reception for exhibitions that is free and is open to the public. Artists are responsible for delivery of artwork to and from the gallery within a designated time frame. They must also insure that all artwork is properly prepared and ready to hang or display.
Gallery exhibitions usually open on the third Thursday of the month, and run for 3 - 6 weeks.
The Port Moody Arts Centre accepts proposals year-round, from groups and individuals in all media and subject matter. The exhibitions program is curated by the PMAC exhibitions committee, which meets to evaluate work based on a cohesive theme, non-derivative, and skillful execution of chosen media.
