My art work has only recently been on display, generally in group shows in the Lower Mainland. Much of my work is small, but my largest work is a series of murals on the seventh floor of the Teck Acute Care Centre at BC Children’s Hospital, part of the Children’s Healing Experience Project.
I am a professionally educated graphic designer and illustrator and have created advertising artwork for clients for over 35 years. In the past few years I have been focusing more on illustration and special projects.
Four years ago a strange thing happened when daily drawing and doodling bloomed into my weird and wonderful Worry Birds. A wonky sense of humour and the evolving birds merged and I started creating cartoons capturing observations on coffee, beer, growing older with fanciful word twists and playful line work.
I have run an artists’ community network group called Creative People Talking for over 4 years, meeting in Port Moody for live discussions and on FaceBook sharing opportunities for creatives across genres.
I live in Coquitlam and am considered an honourary Port Moodite.
