In ceramics my inspiration lies in natural plastic forms which clay demonstrates when modeled by hand. The process allows me license to create and control the form. Yet the clay has the final voice; its dormant tendency to warp and distort during firing must always be considered an important factor in the determination of the final design.
There is no doubt that I am influenced by my environment and this is reflected in my creative endeavor. There is no stopping the growth process. It is by its very nature self-perpetuating.
