I learned how to sew and embroider when I was young and it’s always stayed as a hobby of mine. I’ve always been interested in art making that expands outside of what people may traditionally think of when they think about art. I’m drawn to sewing and embroidery because it relates to the idea of craft vs art while also exploring concepts of femininity and domesticity within art history. Though it is something I do part time, I hope to improve over time and be able to explore more methods and techniques that can help me be more immersed in the medium.
